The Guidance Department: Goals and Objectives
The Grade School Guidance Department aims to develop students into well-integrated individuals who are inspired by the Ignatian vision of being a “man for others”. As Men of Character, the Xaverians are able to maintain a positive attitude toward themselves and others, attain self-sufficiency, exercise self-discipline and take responsibility for their actions. As Men of Conscience, who see the loving nature of God in one’s life and others, they are able to develop a closer relationship with God through the habit of prayer and reflection. As Men with an Inclusive Sense of Community and Willingness to Serve, they are able to accept and respect diversity, live harmoniously with one another and respond with sensitivity and compassion to the needs of others. As such, the department shares in the traditions and philosophy of the Jesuit schools in general, and in the vision and goals of St. Francis Xavier in particular. |
